Carers in Malta and Gozo, by district

Simple & direct

How it works

1. Browse real profiles

Carers, housekeepers and nannies who already live in Malta or Gozo list their experience, languages, skills and availability. Profiles are sorted by who was most recently active.

2. Contact them directly

Get in touch with the people you would like to meet and arrange interviews yourselves. We never sit in the middle: no placement fee on either side, and carers never pay.

3. Employ your carer

Your family becomes the employer, with a PE number, a written contract and a Jobsplus form. If your parent is over 60, the Carer at Home scheme can help with the wage. Our guides explain each step.

What to expect from CarerMalta

You stay in control

You choose who to contact and agree duties, hours and pay directly with the carer. We don't rank people or take part in the hiring.

No agency fees

There's no placement fee on either side. Families pay a one-time contact unlock and nothing more; carers pay nothing. The only other costs are the ones any employer in Malta has: the wage, social security and any government fees.

Carers never pay

Carers, housekeepers and nannies never pay to list or to be contacted. Maltese law bars charging anyone looking for work for employment services.

Phone numbers confirmed by SMS

Every helper confirms their mobile number with an SMS code before their profile can go live. We don't check identity, qualifications, documents or references, so make your own checks at interview.

Frequently asked questions

How does CarerMalta work?

Carers, housekeepers and nannies who already live in Malta create their own profiles, and families contact them directly. CarerMalta is an advertising platform, not an employment agency: we don't take part in any hiring, and we don't handle permits, contracts or Jobsplus forms.

Is CarerMalta free to use?

Browsing profiles, posting a job and reading responses are free, and carers always list free. To see a carer's contact details, a family pays a one-time unlock, from €29 for a month at our launch rate — no subscription. See the pricing page.

Do carers pay anything?

No, never. Creating a profile and hearing from families are free for carers, housekeepers and nannies. Maltese law says no payment may be demanded from anyone looking for work in return for employment services (S.L. 452.130, reg. 10, checked 15 Sep 2026). If anyone asks you for money for a job, don't pay.

Can I get help paying for a carer?

If your parent is over 60, the Carer at Home scheme pays up to €9,000 a year in 2026 towards employing a carer with a recognised qualification (servizz.gov.mt, checked 15 Sep 2026). CarerMalta isn't part of the scheme or any government department: you apply through Active Ageing and Community Care. Our Carer at Home guide explains who qualifies.

How much is a live-in carer paid in Malta?

Pay is agreed between you and the carer, at or above the legal minimum: in 2026, €1,016.37 a month for a live-in household worker who sleeps in at least 17 nights a month (L.N. 288 of 2025, checked 15 Sep 2026), plus statutory bonuses and the employer's social security. See our guide to live-in carer pay and costs.

Can I hire a carer from abroad through this site?

No. Profiles are only for people who already live in Malta. Families who bring a carer from outside the EU go through Identità's single-permit process themselves, and CarerMalta doesn't take part. Our non-EU carer guide explains the official route.

CarerMalta is an advertising platform. We are not an employment agency and are not involved in or a party to any engagement between users, who deal directly with each other.
