Terms of use

Last updated 28 October 2026

1. Who we are

CarerMalta is operated by Lovell Digital Properties Pty Ltd (ACN 691 669 280), Adelaide, South Australia. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Lovell Digital Properties Pty Ltd (ACN 691 669 280), and "the site" means CarerMalta (carermalta.com).

2. What CarerMalta is — and what it is not

CarerMalta is an online advertising and listing platform. It allows domestic workers to publish profiles advertising their availability, and allows families to publish job listings, view profiles and contact workers directly.

CarerMalta is not an employment agency or a recruitment office and does not provide recruitment, placement, intermediation or referral services. We do not select, recommend, match, shortlist, vet for suitability, interview or place candidates, and we do not recruit or bring in workers from abroad. We do not negotiate, arrange or take part in any engagement, employment relationship or contract between users. Any communication, interview, agreement or engagement happens directly between the worker and the family, entirely outside this platform.

Profiles are displayed in neutral order (such as by recent activity). The presence of a profile on this site is not a recommendation or endorsement of any kind.

3. Immigration, visas and work permits

CarerMalta has no involvement of any kind in visas, work permits, labour or residence authorisations, sponsorship or its transfer, or related paperwork. We do not provide immigration advice or services, do not handle or store identity or immigration documents, do not act for anyone in any application, and never act under a power of attorney or other mandate for a household or a worker. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any engagement complies with the laws of Malta, including employment and immigration law. Any information on this site about official processes is general information only, not legal advice; the official services are run by the government authorities.

4. Permits, Identità, Jobsplus and EURES: information only

Where this site mentions Identità (Malta's identity, residence and permits authority), Jobsplus (Malta's public employment service) or EURES (the European job mobility network), it is general information only, with links to the official sites. CarerMalta does not prepare, lodge, submit or follow up any single permit, change of employer, visa, residence or Jobsplus application for anyone, and never acts for a household or a worker in any of them.

Some applications to employ a person from outside the EU or EEA require the employer to advertise the role on Jobsplus and EURES first. A listing on CarerMalta does not satisfy that requirement: it is not an advertisement on Jobsplus or EURES and cannot replace one. Whether an advertisement is needed for a particular role is a question for Identità or Jobsplus.

5. No agency advertisements, and no fees for carers

CarerMalta is not an employment agency and does not carry advertisements from employment agencies, recruitment agencies or any other intermediary. Only a carer, housekeeper or nanny may create a profile, and only for themselves. Only a private household, including a family member arranging care for a relative, may post a job, and only for work in a private home. Anything that advertises an agency, a recruitment or placement service, or a payment for an introduction is not allowed and is removed.

In Malta an employment agency must hold a licence from the Department for Industrial and Employment Relations (DIER). A household that employs someone directly for its own home does not need one. If you deal with an agency anywhere else, ask for its DIER licence number and check it with DIER. CarerMalta does not check, endorse or vouch for any agency.

Carers never pay to be listed, contacted or introduced. CarerMalta takes no commission and makes no deduction from anyone's pay, and no one else may charge a carer a fee, or deduct anything from pay, in connection with this site. If anyone asks a carer for money, it is a scam: do not pay, and report it to us.

6. Fees

Workers never pay anything to use this site — creating a profile and being contacted is free for workers, always. If anyone asks a worker for money in connection with this site, it is a scam and should be reported to us immediately. Families may be charged a fee to access contact details or to post job listings, as displayed on the site at the time. Any such fee is for access to the platform's features only and is not a placement, recruitment or success fee.

7. Accounts and profiles

You must be at least 18 years old to use this site. Workers must be at least 18 years old to publish a profile; we check this from the year of birth given at sign-up.

Only a worker may create and manage their own profile. Profiles posted by an employer, sponsor or anyone else on a worker's behalf are not allowed, and neither is any listing that offers a worker for "transfer" or "release" or names a transfer, release or sale price. Such listings are removed and the accounts involved may be closed.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you publish. Profiles and job listings must not describe, rank or select people by religion, skin colour or a "price" for a worker; pay may only be stated as a term of a job. We may review, decline or remove any profile, job listing or other content at our discretion, including content we consider misleading, unlawful or unsafe. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

Messages you send through the site must relate to the work being advertised and must be respectful. We may read messages to investigate a report and may suspend accounts that misuse messaging — for example harassment, spam, or asking another user for money or documents.

8. Safety

We do not verify the identity, background, qualifications or references of any user beyond phone-number verification. You must carry out your own checks before any engagement. See our safety guidance. Use the report function to alert us to suspicious behaviour.

9. Liability

The platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any dealings between users, for the accuracy of user-published content, or for any loss arising from engagements formed after contact through this site. Nothing in these terms excludes any right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Right to cancel (withdrawal)

Your access starts as soon as your payment is confirmed (or when your current access ends, if you already have some), because you ask us to start straight away. You can still cancel within 14 days of paying by emailing hello@carermalta.com, and we will refund you within 14 days, less a share of the price for the days your access was active.

If something goes wrong on our side, write to us and we will put it right or refund you. This does not take away any of your other legal rights.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, where the operator is based. That does not take away any protection you have under mandatory consumer law in Malta or in the country where you live, and nothing in these terms stops you from bringing a claim in the courts of your own country where the law allows it.

Engagements between users are a separate matter: they are made directly between the carer and the family, outside this site, and are subject to the laws that apply to them, normally the laws of Malta (see section 3).

12. Contact

Questions about these terms: contact us or email hello@carermalta.com.
